Small yet impactful contribution by Wipro employees to enhance green cover

Wipro Cares organized a plantation drive at the Government High School in Marballi village, Mysuru. This was undertaken in collaboration with our partner Rural Literacy and Health Programme (RLHP).

The event was held on August 10, 2024. It brought together 14 employee volunteers from Wipro’s Mysuru office. They were joined by their family members, school children, teachers, and local community members. Together, they planted nearly 50 saplings. The activity’s shared objective was to make a positive impact on the environment and the community.

This initiative was more than just a tree-planting event. It aimed to enhance the school’s green cover. Its other goal was to foster awareness about the environment, and issues related to sustainability, among the students and the local residents.

“It was an enriching experience volunteering for this activity. It gave me a sense of satisfaction.”
– Siju Nichlavose, Domain Consultant

“It was a wonderful experience. It was a great encouragement for my son to learn and take part in conservation activities.”
Usharani G N, Senior Application Support Engineer

“It was a day well spent with the school children, surrounded by greenery. Getting our hands dirty with soil and sharing laughter was truly enjoyable. Please organize more such plantation activities.”

This plantation drive was a testament to the power of collaboration and community spirit. It would surely help create a greener environment. It has also inspired a sense of responsibility and togetherness in everyone involved.
