TFG aims to educate future generations to not only think of solutions about how to reduce pollution, improve waste management, encourage water conservation, increase energy efficiency, etc.; but also help them realize the implications of future disasters.

For this year, our vision was to start working directly with the government schools at the primary and middle levels collaborating with teachers, especially helping them with English, craft activities, educational aids, and games that we used in our learning groups—also making meaningful designs to support learning in their language used by Narikuravars, and collaborating with the Block Resource Centres to provide better transport facilities for the students.

The Society for Door Step Schools (DSS)

The Society for Door Step Schools (DSS) aims to bring education to the doorstep of children from marginalized backgrounds such as construction site workers, temporary and permanent slum dwellers, pavement dwellers, and seasonal migrants like brick-kiln workers. It has been working since 1989 in the urban contexts of Mumbai. Since 1993, it has also started working in Pune. Through its community and school intervention programs, DSS has been trying to address three key issues of primary education. DSS aims to be an instrumental force that brings development to children and works with a mission of bridging the educational gaps in favor of the urban poor using innovative programs that will bring education to these children and help them make the transition to literacy and a brighter future.

Mission: By 2025, Co-create 118 Maker Labs with Type IV Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBVs) to ensure the success of marginalized girls in all the educationally backward blocks of Rajasthan. 

Maker Labs, as explained later, seek to empower students through a comprehensive STEAM-based curriculum. We are aiming to transform KGBVs through Maker Labs to empower marginalized girls to pursue high-potential careers and uplift their communities.

Urmi Foundation

Urmi Foundation aims at three core areas via its grassroots-level interventions in disability: Identification; Intervention; and Mainstreaming. Urmi Foundation specifically works with children with developmental disabilities like autism, cerebral palsy, Down’s syndrome, ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder) and other permanent disabilities. Urmi tries to reduce its intensity by its planned and tailor-made intervention. Urmi implements its model/program in Mumbai and Thane currently, but is willing to expand it to other regions of Maharashtra.
